It's beginning to look a lot like romance…
Can they keep their attraction under control?
After working as a firefighter for the past ten years, burnout is real for Thea Martinelli. But just when she’s ready to hang up the hose for good, she’s offered a position as the station’s new social media coordinator. It’s a move that would keep her on the squad and off the truck.
Librarian and social media coordinator Simon Osman is shocked to learn his new responsibilities include showing Thea – his high school crush – the ins and outs of digital engagement. And the fact that she doesn’t even remember him? Not helpful.
But as the chaos of the holiday season unfolds, Thea and Simon find that the closer they work together, the hotter their attraction burns. Are they willing to risk everything they’ve worked toward…for each other?

About the author
A New Hampshire native, Adele Buck still has card number 430 from her hometown library even though she has lived in the D.C. area for over 20 years with her fantastic husband and the requisite number of neurotic cats. Having worked as (among other things) a bookseller, a waitress, a communications manager, an actor and a stage manager, Adele's current day job is librarian at a Washington, D.C., law school.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
The Christmas season heats up in Buck's steamy second First Responders romance (after Fake Flame). After 10 years working as a firefighter in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., Thea Martinelli is rattled when a fellow firefighter is seriously injured on the job, and she jumps at the chance to take a breather as the new social media manager for emergency services. To train her, the department brings in the local library's social media manager: total hunk Simon Osman. Simon is shocked to see Thea, his distant, unattainable crush all through high school, and can tell she doesn't quite remember him from their teenage years. Sparks fly as these two spend more time together, and Simon discovers the vulnerable side that Thea always used to hide behind humor. But their budding relationship is complicated by Simon's controlling sister's demands that he spend more of the upcoming Christmas holiday with her in California. Sex scenes sizzle while the pressures of the holiday season keep the plot moving swiftly. Readers will cheer for Simon to find happiness with the girl he never forgot.
