From the author: "I developed the original story as a screenplay for an independent film. When the financial backing for the filmmaker fell through, I put the story on the shelf, so to speak. Eventually I came to realize that the screenplay had potential as a novella. I dusted off the script, and started revising what soon turned into my first book."
