The Crown

This is the English translation of Tagore's "Mukut" meaning crown, set in 16th century royal Tripura. The play is all ready for production. The Emperor's sons compete with each other in a contest of archery with an unexplainable outcome. Following that they are sent to battle the Burmese monarch who is their sworn enemy. But treachery shows its ugly face and insanity cuts loose and the outcome of their campaign resembles that of the archery contest in a disturbing way. A great oriental play for low-budget production …
