The Espresso Hex

Sage Hawthorne came home to Wickbrook Falls to grieve, not to become the town's most talked-about witch.

But her late grandmother's recipe book has other plans. Tucked between coffee-cake formulas and handwritten warnings is a recipe Sage never meant to brew: the Espresso Hex, a curse-laced latte meant for one insufferable rival and nobody else.

Naturally, it doesn't stay that contained.

Within days, the hex has tangled itself into the town's most notorious unsolved case, and Sage finds herself the prime suspect in a mystery she didn't start and can't undo. Her allies are a best friend who thinks this is the most exciting thing to ever happen to their café, a sharp-tongued black cat named Biscuit who has opinions about everything and an unnervingly good nose for trouble, and Detective Cal Bennett — the one person in Wickbrook Falls whose entire job is arresting people exactly like her.

Unfortunately, he's also the one person she can't stop thinking about.

As the hex spirals further out of control and the truth behind the case creeps closer to the surface, Sage will have to decide how much of her grandmother's magic — and her own heart — she's willing to risk to clear her name.

Cozy, witchy, and steeped in small-town secrets, The Espresso Hex is the first book in the Wickbrook Falls series, where every cup comes with a side of trouble.
