Description de l’éditeur

The guns of Colorado – The Mosby family headed west to Oregon, like so many others, but were smooth talker convinced them and two other families to leave the train and head for the gold fields of Colorado. When Jacob Mosby first saw the valley, he knew he was a man of the land by heart and thoughts of digging for gold left his mind.
Miracle Valley became the home for the Mosby ‘Rocking M’ ranch where they found that life on a ranch in Colorado was good, but it was a full-time job building and keeping that ranch. Jacob was hard and shrewd in his business dealings and when the ranch was turned over to his two boys, Ike and Abe it was Ike who followed his father’s pattern.
Abe was more easygoing. He enjoyed the working part of the ranch but had little interest in the business side and although it was sometimes contentious between them. Then something more serious drove them apart, and it seemed like they would never patch their differences, only to find them back together again with one brother defending the other, who stands accused of killing his wife.

The Section Hand

The war had devastated the cattle business in Texas when the blockade prevented them from getting the cattle to market, and the MacTavish family was faring no better than all the rest. They managed to hold on through the war years, but there was no doubt that they were going to lose the ranch. Alexander MacTavish was a wily Scotsman who had prepared for the worst, and now he wanted his sons to do the same.
Owen worked hard on the ranch ever since he was old enough to ride a horse and took pride in following his father’s orders and wishes, but is brother William, on the other hand had little interest in ranch work or the ranch for that matter, so it was an easy choice which one he was going to help the most.
Since ranching was on the ropes, he wanted to send Owen to Harvard University to study and become a lawyer…and being a dutiful son, he ended up in the North, where feelings were still running high against anyone from the South. Through some clever deception and the love of a wonderful girl, he was kept in a place he detested until, finally, circumstances led him to the path he had always wanted to travel.
