Diomedes, the crown prince of Phildeterre, can't seem to make his voice heard in his father's council meetings. He knows the war on magic must end or Phildeterre will fall.

When a close friend is arrested and facing execution, Diomedes makes the choice to leave his life as crown prince. He sets out to find a peaceful way to end the war and force his father's hand.

With his best friend, Armannii, by his side, Diomedes travels to distant corners of his father's country and into an entirely different world. A world filled with magic folk who have escaped the oppression in Phildeterre.

As he seeks the means to end the persecution, he discovers in his own heart a desire.
