Gilbert Parker (Sir Horatio Gilbert George Parker) was a Canadian novelist and British politician. He was born at Camden East, Addington in 1862 in the family of Captain J. Parker. He wrote  popular adventure and historical romances. Parker's best known work is The Seats of the Mighty (1896). It is a novel about the 17th-century conquest of Quebec.
