The Light After is a novella about silence, about a kind of rescue that comes not from outside, but from within—and about words that remain even when there was no cry for help.

At the heart of the story is a child's diary, found drifting at sea. A few pages, wet and fragile, become the reason for one man to go back into the ocean—not to save someone, but to remember who he is.
