The Memory Jumper

Eighteen-year-old Adelaide has grown up in an underground safe house. If the government discovers her ability to manipulate memories, they'll kill her—so she dreams, paints, and keeps her head down. 

Meanwhile, her adoptive mother Fawn brings in clients desperate to rewrite their pasts, and Adelaide alters their memories for money. Some requests are light-hearted; others are downright sinister. 

When a young inventor stumbles upon their illegal operation, he pushes Adelaide to see the real world, despite the risks. But freedom requires betraying the only mother she's ever known, and Fawn would rather own Adelaide than let her go.
