Howard Phillips Lovecraft (20 August 1890 – 15 March 1937) was an American writer, who is well-known by his horror fiction. Lovecraft started wrote fiction being a child ("The Beast in the Cave" (1905), "The Alchemist" (1908)). He was the founder of “Cthulhu Mythos” by his short story “The Call of Cthulhu”. His works had influenced on modern public culture. Also, was founded the subgenre “Lovecraftian horror”, that emphasizes the horror of the unknown. 

“The Moon Bog” is a short story that was written by Howard P. Lovecraft in or before March 1921 and first published in the June 1926 issue of “Weird Tales”. The unnamed narrator describes the final fate of his good friend, Denys Barry, an Irish-American who reclaims an ancestral estate in Kilderry, a fictional town in Ireland.
