Description de l’éditeur

COMMUNICATION COMPETENCY is valued and expected by students' future employers and significantly impacts hiring decisions (Johnson & Wales University, 1996-2002; Peterson, 1997). But it may be a challenge to convince our students that communication skills are prerequisite to classroom and workplace success. Since educators are now engaged in fulfilling the needs of both students and their future employers, it is essential that we share our successes with designing, facilitating, and assessing practical business communication assignments steeped in real-life application. This article describes two pragmatic assignments that have met with success in the MBA program at Johnson & Wales University. They can be easily adopted by business communication instructors teaching in a variety of settings.
