Oscar Wilde's story of a fashionable young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty is one of his most popular works. First published in 1890 in Lippincott's Monthly Magazine and the following year in novel form, The Picture of Dorian Gray categorically changed Victorian Britain and the landscape of literature.
