Horatio Alger, Jr. was a prolific American author of the 19-th century. 

One agitated story by Horatio Alger revealing the power of desire and rival. Store boy will relate you about main character of Store boy, Ben Barclay, stout-built, dark complexioned man, with a beard of a week's growth, wearing an old and dirty suit. That's his appearance in the beginning of the story. But he realizes that this life is a tramp for him and he needs something or someone to make changes.  Now he has nothing but desire to become famous and rich in New York where he is making his road. Probably after all routines he will get the highest top of his diligence and become a man he always wanted to be.
