The Time Given

When circumstances drive Tara to take extreme measures for survival, she questions if her actions define her as a whore, home wrecker, and bigamist.
The ants that cause shorts and power outages by destroying electrical wire seem almost funny to Tara and her husband when they first hear about them. But the power of the small is often underestimated. The shorts and outages bring down the grid, and our society falls with it. Tara soon finds herself alone in a new world where people struggle desperately for survival and power. She makes her own way in world, but her life becomes inexorably intertwined with that of James, a married man she adores, and Gary, a powerful man in the new regime that she does not trust. Despite trying to understand the new morality of the time, she questions her decisions and their outcomes and finds her own power as something small.
