The Undone Years

1919 – The war is over and the victorious European nations are caught up in a whirlwind of pleasure as their people try to forget the horrors of the past four years. Caroline, whose family realize, that many women will no longer fulfill their destiny through marriage, arrives in Paris to study art. Her travelling companion, Judy, wants only parties in her headlong rush to find a man. But it is Caroline, who, through her skill as an artist, attracts a well-connected British journalist, Ashley Carrick-Jones. His special skills make him an ideal person to report on the threat the Bolsheviks pose to Europe. Circumstances force the two of them to travel to the defeated cities – Berlin, Vienna and Budapest – where they are in considerable danger. It is against this background that their love affair develops.
