THUS WORKED HUMANKIND

Scientism, which promised humankind happiness, is dead some decades ago. Nevertheless, most people over the world think that humankind progresses very quickly. Is it really the case? When you look at cars, they all look the same. You could figure out that they rely on different technologies, but this is not the case. And it is the same for all the industrial products you can imagine, but also for the way companies work, countries are governed, people behave, etc. 34 of my students in the scholar year 2017-2018 of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology tried to find “exceptions confirming the rule”. They could not.


The purpose of this book is to prove scientifically that what we observe can be theorized. And of course, we can draw some additional features, unexpected, from the theory. Having identified the problem, that is convergence to our upper asymptote, the question remains to know how to break this asymptote for humankind not to be trapped into stagnation then recession. There will be a painful way for those who will assign themselves such task. And it will be much harder for them than for their predecessors. Just please dive into the real world, notice what happens and decide how you are going to act from now on.
