Torvak

She's spent ten years fighting for her family. Can she finally let someone fight for her?

For ten years, Hannah Simmons has put her own dreams aside to raise her younger siblings. At eighteen, she became their guardian, giving up her education and working herself ragged to keep a roof over their heads. Now, with bills piling up and no way forward, she needs a miracle.

The Bride Fleet offers her a chance. By taking the matching tests, Hannah qualifies for a scholarship that will cover her education and all living expenses for herself and her siblings. A Dragonii match could offer the possibility of land and a home to call their own. Whether she matches with a Mylos, a Dragonii, or no one at all, their future is secure, with Hannah able to complete her education and her family having a permanent home. Hannah has nothing to lose and everything to gain, so she takes the gamble, never expecting to find a match. She certainly never expects the tests to lead her to Torvak Rhen.

Torvak has built a good life on New Haven. As a customs and environmental compliance officer, he's dependable, respected, and established in the community. His home is comfortable, his work is meaningful, and there's just one thing missing: someone to share it all with. When Hannah and her siblings arrive, he sees a chance to build the family he's always wanted.

But Hannah has spent ten years being the one everyone depends on. Letting someone else share the burden means risking her heart, too. Torvak wants to stand beside her, not take over, but can she trust that love won't cost her the independence she's fought so hard to keep?

On a new world, Hannah has the chance to give her siblings a future—and finally discover that she deserves one of her own.

A Dragonii mate, a home for her family, and a future she never dared to dream of.
