Transforming Light

Transforming Light is a collection of poems and hymns written between November 2005 and December 2009. Most of the hymns here were written to be sung by a choir or congregation, but a few are more personal in focus or contain enough symbolism that they would be better simply read. I have tried to write even the more music-oriented hymns in such a way that they can be read and enjoyed in their own right as poetry. Many of the hymns were written with a particular melody in mind or were assigned melodies shortly after they were written; these have the name of the tune and sometimes the names of hymns commonly sung to this tune written beneath the title. Others can be assigned tunes as the reader sees fit. However you choose to use this book, I sincerely hope it blesses you and deepens your understanding of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, who the source of everything worth singing about.
