Two Women

It is the late 1800s on the coast of Africa when four-year-old Anyentyuwe is given by her father to the Baraka mission so she may escape the heathenism of her village. Even after Anyentyuwe becomes orphaned, she dutifully abides by her father’s wishes and remains at the mission. Vivacious and brilliant, she is sought by many men. But she soon considers herself enslaved and becomes the victim of two attacks that change her forever.



Ekâkise is a victim herself. Sold by her father to a drunkard, polygamist husband, she comes to the mission to be restored to the Lord’s Table and hopefully to be liberated from her violent life. As she tries to escape her husband’s cruelty, Ekâkise is befriended by a medical missionary and his sister. Now only time will tell if they can rescue both women from their fates.
