Urban World: Mapping the Economic Power of Cities
Description de l’éditeur
The McKinsey Global Institute finds that more than 60 percent of global growth to 2025 is likely to come from 600 cities. Companies looking for growth need to include 577 fast-growing middleweight cities—with populations under 10 million—as well as focus on 423 cities in emerging regions that will generate nearly half of global growth to 2025. Middleweights in these regions alone will contribute an estimated 40 percent of global growth. The research draws its insights from forecasts for demographic and economic data for more than 2,000 of the largest metropolitan areas around the world.
