Description de l’éditeur

Abstract This paper explores these two approaches to certification and views them in light of some of the literature regarding certification issues in the outdoors. This paper will also provide the reader with some insight into the outdoor leadership 'culture' and the challenges posed to the profession by various forms/systems of certification and standardisation. Finally, some key issues are raised from the perspectives of those engaged in teaching outdoor leaders with respect to the impacts of the current schemes.
