OK, it pains me to see this title. I've been hoping to find someone with more years in mortgage technology than I, as I just hate being known as the "old guy." Having this many years under my belt makes me feel like I should be ready for the retirement home. There are a lot of things I learned through the years, and for the first time, I'll summarize them all together in order of perceived importance for the potential benefit of some of the newer players coming into the business. The best lesson was the one I actually learned in college: "The longer the party, the greater the hangover." I tested this theory many times in college and even since. It's the one constant in our industry, and we are seeing it play out in the most difficult fashion.
