Publisher Description

'Scurrilous, scandalous and frequently disgusting. I absolutely loved it' James O'Brien

Twitter hero James Felton brings you the painfully funny history of Britain you were never taught at school, fully illustrated and chronicling 52 of the most ludicrous, weird and downright 'baddie' things we Brits* have done to the world since time immemorial - before conveniently forgetting all about them, of course. Including:

- Starting wars with China when they didn't buy enough of our class A drugs
- Inventing a law so we didn't have to return objects we'd blatantly stolen from other countries
- Casually creating muzzles for women
- And almost going to war over a crime committed by a pig

52 TIMES BRITAIN WAS A BELLEND will complete your knowledge of this sceptred isle in ways you never expected. So if you've ever wondered how we put the 'Great' in 'Great Britain', wonder no more . . .

*And when we say British, for the most part we unfortunately just mean the English.

Brilliant, Brilliant and BRILLIANT!

Not much more to say about this book other than that it is amazingly well-written (and narrated!), thoroughly entertaining and incredibly insightful. Lovely to commute, I can’t recommend it enough. Whenever I’m bored of my other audiobooks I always come back to this gem and play a random chapter and usually end up in tears laughing! Can’t wait to see what else the author comes out with in the future.

What a Bell End

Typical of the English self-hatred that has been drummed into us by the PC elite and other enemies of our country over the last 50 years. If Britain (and he specifically means England) was a bell end 52 times how many times were other countries far, far worse? Also it is interesting that the Celtic fringe is always keen to claim responsibility for any of the good, creative actions of the United Kingdom but suddenly claims to have been "oppressed" by the English when it comes to activities that are now for whatever reason deemed unacceptable. Imperialism is now a dirty word and England is particularly criticised for this "crime", but every mention of African or Asian history extols the magnificent empires they created through just such a process.
