About $2 trillion is invested in the hedge-fund industry, and yet, due to industry regulations, the general public knows little about them. This book will change that.
Timothy Sykes turned $12,000 of Bar Mitzvah gift money into $1.65 million by trading thousands of stocks from 1999 to 2002. He managed the number-one Short Bias Hedge Fund from 2003 to 2006, starred in the television documentary Wall Street Warriors, and appeared regularly on CNBC - all before the age of 26. It's been a wild ride.
This Rocky-like story is the first realistic look at the world of stock trading and hedge funds. It will educate and inspire everyone.
Enjoyed, all but the last 30 minutes
This is a great book, read well and well structured. I really enjoyed listening to how he had made his fund, and the financial background to his career, however, although I understand that investments can go up as well as down, he ends up essentially changing his career to be another, self righteous lecturer / teacher. The last 30 minutes gets a little ridiculous, he goes on and on about the hedge fund FCC regulations. I would have just ended it 30 minutes earlier with a paragraph on what I was up to now, and how I live today, full stop.
As a 16 year old wanting to be a trader, this book is truely inspiring , and once you start listening - you won't stop.
