As a half-demon master of the dark arts, Eve Levine isn't what anyone would call "angelic." That's exactly why the Fates chose her for the job. She's their secret weapon against the forces of evil.
However, after five years, Eve is tired of being the designated rebel of the angel corps, expected to break the rules, then being penalized for it. When the leaderless djinn stage an uprising, Eve sees the perfect chance to get herself fired. As she plunges deeper into the demon world, though, she realizes she's in danger of losing a lot more than her job.
I fell asleep
Let me start by saying I am a huge, massive fan of Kelley Armstrong. I love her writing style, I love her plots I adore her characters, Eve being one of my favourites.
Sadly this is awful, not the book itself, but the narration. Laural Merlington's monotone voice sent me to sleep the first time I listened to it and made me laugh out loud the second time I listened at her attempts to imitate a mans voice. Unfortunately, I cant tell you anything about the book as when I was awake or not laughing my mind wandered off to think about more interesting things, like laundry. I have now given up and am trying to find the rare paper version of the book, which will no doubt cost a fortune
I am quite new to audio book and only got it because I couldn't get it in print or ebook format, so perhaps I was expecting too much. Needless to say this has put me off buying future audio books and I will stick to reading them myself in future. It has not put me off reading more Kelley Armstrong, she is awesome!
