Meet Ava: rule-abiding lawyer who has ticked all of life’s boxes. She’s married to a successful surgeon and has just taken an indefinite career break to raise her adorable toddler. A picture-perfect life.
Meet Winnie: Ava’s old college roommate. Once awkward, quiet and apparently academically challenged, she left Stanford in a shroud of scandal. But now, she is charismatic, wealthy and has returned to town dripping in designer accessories. An actual perfect life.
When the two women bump into one another at a local coffee shop, it seems like fate has intervened: Winnie’s new-found success is courtesy of a shady business and she needs a favour; Ava is realising she is not built for the stay-at-home life. But what starts as one favour turns into two, then three, and soon Ava is in far deeper than she ever imagined.
Now Ava has to make the ultimate decision: cut and run, or risk it all?

*Behind The Facade*
Well this was different, there are two main players in this story
Ava - she has lived her life virtually through the eyes of what her parents wanted for her, she is clever, smart and is a corporate lawyer. She is married to a surgeon and all looks great on paper until she takes a break from work to look after her child. Her husband is barely home and she is struggling to cope with her ever demanding difficult child. - is this the life she always dreamed of?
Winnie - she went to college with Ava and struggles academically. She left college after a scandal re her exams and was a very awkward scholar and not destined to be in the same league as Ava. Seemingly things have changed and Winnie is rolling in it. Is her life all it seems?
Many years later they bump into each other and Ava is shocked at the transformation of Winnie. The difference in her friend is astounding and Ava quickly feels her life now needs more substance.
Winnie needs a favour or two, or three which turns into more than Ava ever bargained for now she realises that Winnie’s business is not as it seems but Ava is seduced by it all and even though she knows she should back out she digs a bigger hole for herself.
Things come to a head and Ava is soon facing a dilemma…..
Lots of funny scenarios, some of it dark humour which appeals to my sense of humour, very entertaining
