Publisher Description
The London season has begun. But while debutantes and chaperones plan their luncheons and balls a deadly blackmailer is stalking the highest echelons of society.
Naturally, it falls to charming, aloof Detective Inspector Roderick Alleyn - son of Lady Alleyn - to investigate the case. He has already planted his close friend Lord Robert at the scene. But someone else got to him first . . .
Death in a White Tie was first published in 1938 and is perhaps the finest of Marsh's 1930s novels - elegantly constructed, witty and marvelously entertaining.
Please note: This is a vintage recording. The audio quality may not be up to modern day standards.
Customer Reviews
Great story, awful audio
I'm a big fan of Ngaio Marsh and was really looking forward to being able to listen to one of my favourite books whenever and where ever I wanted but the audio on this is dreadful.
I have previously borrowed a copy of this same recording on cassette tape from my local library and the audio on those old, worn, multi-used tapes was 100 times better than this.
Very poor recording
The sound quality is at times very poor as if it had been recorded a long time ago.
One of the better ngaio marsh stories - shame about the poor sound.
Terrible recording, good story
Sounds like it was narrated down a megaphone or through a tin bucket.
