Publisher Description
Rex Braden is wealthy, hard-working, and fiercely loyal. Sweat at his brow, he works the family ranch by day, then kicks back at night with part time lovers who require nothing more than his physical presence a few times each week. But that was before. Before Jade Johnson, the daughter of the man his father has been feuding with for over 40 years, moves back into town.
After ditching a horrific relationship - and her veterinary practice in the process - Jade Johnson returns to the safety of her small hometown and finally finds her footing. That is...until her horse is injured and Rex Braden comes to her rescue. The last thing she needs is a bull-headed, too-handsome-for-his-own-good Braden complicating her life.
Despite the angry family history, sparks fly between Rex and Jade, and attitudes follow. Fifteen years of stifled, forbidden love stirs a surge of passion too strong for either to deny - and the rebel in each of them rears its powerful head. Loyalties are tested, and relationships are strained. Rex and Jade are about to find out if true love really can conquer all.

Destined to fall in love with these characters
I was first introduced to Melissa Foster’s ‘Lover’s At Heart’ book about 5 years ago, and in it I was first introduced to Rex Braden. So when ‘Destined For Love’ was released, I was so excited to get stuck into it and learn more about this burly, brooding hunk.
Rex is strong-willed, determined and on the outside you believe him to be quite stubborn and at times cold, but he is like a marshmallow in the centre, and there’s no one but Jade Johnson to weaken him.
Jade Johnson is the woman he loves to hate, and if he listened to the opinions of his family, he is very much meant to hate her. A feud which divided two families, have meant Jade and Rex are to be sworn enemies. But when Jade’s horse is injured and she needs help, Rex reluctantly becomes her hero.
I absolutely loved the forbidden romance element to this story, but also found both characters being very strong-willed, independent and determined entertaining. Jade has given up a lot, leaving a veterinary practice behind to essentially start over. But the one thing Rex and Jade have in common is their love of horses, and how very in tune to the animals they are.
These characters have real witty and flirtatious banter, and it will keep you on your toes, whilst equally making you laugh.
I am re-reviewing this as I received a copy of the Audiobook and wanted to add this as part of my overall review. For anyone who loves forbidden romances, or enemies to lovers, this book will be entirely your bag. B J Harrison is the audiobook narrator, and his voice is deep and lulling that you can imagine it is Rex speaking.
The audiobook has reignited my love and adoration for these characters. This series was the first one by Melissa Foster I read, and I have been a loyal addict since. I’d recommend the audio book to anyone who would like to get stuck into an excellent series and for those always on the go. It has kept me thoroughly entertained.
Fall in love with Rex and Jade
Rex and Jade start of with a love hate relationship. After a chance meeting and a lame horse they start a clandestine relationhip. They shouldnt be even looking at each other due to a family feud going back nearly 30 years. Once they start seeing each other there is no going back. Rex must decide if Jade is worth facing the wrath of his father and possibly his family. I really enjoyed this book, great narration from BJ Harrison
