We meet five people Alexandra, Lucy, River, Bridget and Natalie. They come together as they share one thing in common they are all victims of stalking. A terrible crime which can be very hard to prove.
When their worst fear is realised they club together and work out how they can keep each other safe. This is more prevalent now that there are four of them left.
There is a tense feeling throughout and their fear is palpable. When a wreath is sent with a countdown of ten days…. Ten days before their number gets reduced to three.
Amongst them one member of the group is not who they seem to be. What is their motive? One member has been unwittingly in communication online with their stalker. One member is suspicious about one of the group. One member does not want the police involved for reasons that soon become clear, while they all struggle to know what to do for the best.
This book showcases how clever some stalkers can be and I am glad one of the group is male which tells you it is not always women who are stalked.
Some of what happened could have been avoided. When we see how one member of the group becomes blinkered when they realise that someone close to them is responsible. As we see their lies catch up-to them. Will they rue the day for their actions…. I must admit I felt no sympathy for that person.
