An icon of our modern game
This is a tremendous account of football over the past couple of decades, and gives a facinating insite for all football lovers. If you dont support them, most football fans have a soft spot for Newcastle United and if you fall into this category, then this is for you.
Sir Bobby's gentle geordie accent makes for easy listening and covers his own playing career for both club and country, and I for one did not realise that it was his injury that gave Bobby Moore his England chance, one from which Moore never looked back, and Robson never had another look in.
The managerial rollercoaster which took him from Vancouver to Newcastle via appointments in Holland, Portugal and Spain has seen him manage many of the worlds greats and he both dispells some of the myths, and sets the record straight on many issues.
If you love football, you will love this.
Sir Bobby
A fantastic insight into the life of a true gentleman. As a life long Newcastle fan I can only be in awe of the Great Man Sir Bobby! I was saddened by his passing but his spirit will live on as I named my own son Bobby!! A legend, R.I.P Sir Bobby. Gone but never forgotten, you'll always have a place in every Geordies heart!!
Sir Bob - Much Missed
What a superb Audio book, I write this having just listened to a wonderful couple of hours. It's a look back on his early life when his career in football was just kicking off right through to his successful management of club(s) and country. Bobby story is a great listen told by the man himself. Football is much the poorer for Bobby's passing, at least with books like this we can still hear the man. Thanks for what you have done for Football Bobby it will never be forgotten. Buy the book I highly recommend it.
