Publisher Description
A tragedy, a comedy, and a history all rolled into one, the story of the tyrannical Richard III ranks among Shakespeare's most popular plays. Opening with the famous "Now is the winter of our discontent" soliloquy, this masterful work follows its antihero as he plots to steal the throne of England, causing murder and mayhem all along the way. A full cast, including Robert Stephens and Dame Peggy Ashcroft, brings this devilishly entertaining work to life.
Customer Reviews
Stephens is an amazing Richard
Fantastic voices and timing make this the best ricky three out there But the download is fragmented apple need to sort this out. Loads of tedious trips to customer service to no avail ! yes it surpasses oliviers cartoon big bad wolf and shers titanium crutch acrobatics and five thousand quid hump prosthetics. This takes u back to the language and with blistering pace understanding of every word and the most beautiful voice the theatre produced stephens and this excellent cast show how audio Shakespeare should be done. Only let down is apple - the download is problematic and freezes at Richards commissioning tyrell to kill the princes no last act or Boswell battle apples quality control should do some work on this .
