Linda Smith was one of Britain's best-loved comics, famous for her wry observations and her razor-sharp take on modern life. Now fans old and new can enjoy her one-woman show recorded live a unique collection of jokes, stories, and monologues from one of our funniest, most perceptive, and most missed comedians, recorded at the peak of her abilities.

Linda Smith Live
As a total Linda Smith fan (she was one of the wittiest guests at my fantasy dinner party), I wish I was writing a better review. This audiobook was sadly just a bit disappointing. Not totally her fault: it seems to have been recorded at a small theatre, sparsely attended by the people she most parodied, and that shows. Audience laughter is thin, and she appears to become increasingly desparate in trying to get their appreciation. Also, if you listened to her regularly on Radio 4, then you will have heard many of the best lines/stories before. (But they are still good lines/stories.) My conclusion is that if you liked Linda Smith, buy it; but be prepared to sympathise with her uphill task as you listen.
