Twenty years ago, Cyrus Haven's family was murdered and only he and his brother survived. Cyrus because he hid. Elias because he was the killer.
Now Elias is being released from a secure psychiatric hospital and Cyrus, a forensic psychologist, must decide if he can forgive the man who destroyed his childhood.
As he prepares for the homecoming, Cyrus is called to a crime scene in Nottingham. A man is dead and his daughter, Maya, is missing. Then a second woman is abducted. The only witness is Evie Cormac, a troubled teenager with a gift for knowing when people are lying.
Both missing women have dark secrets that Cyrus must unravel to find them - and he and Evie know how the past can come back to haunt you . . .

*Conflict*
This is book 3 of 4 in the ‘Cyrus Haven’ series and this one for me is the best one yet.
We see Cyrus still working with the police in his capacity as a forensic psychologist. He analyses patterns of behaviour and makes it his job to try and follow the patterns of what a criminal will do and why. This does not always work well with the police as what he sees is not always to their convenience. Cyrus is tenacious and stands by his convictions.
This time his personal life takes a turn when his older brother is due out of an institution for committing a horrific crime, is Cyrus ready to welcome him home? How will Evie react to this news as she is carrying her own demons?
The current case will see a reckoning as Evie goes off on her own and makes a serious mistake that will cost someone dearly. As Cyrus is piecing together all the components of this case he realises his past, present and personal life are about to merge together in the most emotionally charged climax of the series yet for me.
Cyrus has often got to the victims after the fact or in the nick of time but this time his heart is involved….
I cannot wait for part 4
