APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Whether you want to revisit an old childhood favourite or introduce a young fan of the movie (or the recent Broadway musical) to a kid-lit classic, Kate Winslet’s reading is just perfect. The actress uses a sunny, loveable schoolteacher tone to tell the story of a precocious five-year-old who channels her newfound telekinetic powers to save her beloved teacher Miss Honey from the school’s terrifying headmistress. Winslet really captures the sinister-yet-lighthearted tone of Roald Dahl’s tale. She makes Matilda—a superhero for book lovers of any age—sound like our new best friend.
