One of Us Is Next

One of the few exceptions to sequel fever

I didn’t really think that the sequel to ‘one of us is lying’ could possibly live up to the first but surprisingly it’s surpassed it in my opinion. The characters in this although involving a vague sense of familiarity aren’t as cliché as in the first book (although Karen McManus really did breath life into some of those tropes) ensuring that this book was not at all predictable, even the underlying hetro relationship which is a key feature of all McManus’s books kinda took a back seat in this one giving a much more equal spread of attention to all the characters. I also love that this would almost entirely work as a stand-alone. Can’t wait for the next installment in the series!
