Publisher Description

One minute Lou is happily employed, with a perfect flat. The next, her home and job have gone. Suddenly she has to start over.

The last thing Lou wants is to move to a tiny Cotswolds village. She certainly doesn't intend to work for curmudgeonly eighty-year-old Edgar Allsopp. But Edgar is about to make her the kind of promise nobody could ignore. In return, she secretly vows to help him fall in love with life again.

Foxwell is also home to Remy, whose charm and charisma are proving hard to ignore. But Lou hasn't recovered from the last time she fell for a charmer. She needs a distraction - and luckily one's about to turn up.

Secrets never stay hidden for long in Foxwell, nor are promises always kept. And no one could guess what lies ahead...

**4.5 Stars**

This is a wonderful story at the heart of it is love and the many forms it takes. Lou thought her life was going well after building up her life after an abusive marriage ended in tragedy. Then all of a sudden she needs to find a new home but at least she has her job. When the job goes she is upset but understands. She is a caregiver a role that she fell into and loved.

In a turn for the worst she bumps into the worlds most grumpiest octogenarian Edgar Allsopp. He mistakenly thinks she is about to attack him when they trip into each other. He then asks her to drive him home in his mini. He happens to be the owner of Foxwell Hall. Edgar wants her to move in and look after him. Lou needs a job but he is far too miserable to be stuck with.

Edgar decides to make her an offer. His offer means that she would leave the area she knows to be closer to someone who she has her eye on. He is not available so another distraction is on the way, is the object of her desire doing the same thing?

We also see how Lou changes how Edgar views the world and there is a beautiful moment towards the end of the book that had me in tears. Edgar makes a monumental mistake and he is powerless to change it.

This is a fix ,

Disappointing

I really can’t listen to any more of this. After just finishing ‘Don’t Want to Miss A Thing’ narrated by the excellent Clare Corbett, which l gave a 5 star review, l find the characters in this book bland, two dimensional and the voices given to them quite irritating. The grumpy old man especially; I tense up. I should have followed my instinct after listening to the preview, but l went with the reviews. The narrator is absolutely fine in the main. Perhaps l should stay with it, but l just want an easy listen and a
good story. A waste of nearly ten pounds. Perhaps it is just me.
