Despite being narrated by a non-actor this is really great. Lots of really interesting information covering the history of people's understanding of physics as well as the theories. Great price for what you get - recomended!

Nine hours for this price? Huge breadth, to a well-judged depth; it would fascinate a schoolchild- but still has snippets that would probably surprise an expert. Serious science, punctuated with whimsical anecdotes and eccentricities; (e.g. in his relaxed American drawl, Berendzen recounts a conversation between Newton and Herschel as if they were two Joe Schmoes). There are shortcomings to trying to convey this material in spoken form, and there are a handful of "spoken typos" throughout. But hey, it's called 'Pulp Physics' for a reason and I'd have to give this five stars.
Good price and quite engaging, however, I felt that it was badly narrated and had a few glaring mistakes, e,g, "Some of these (meteor) showers can produce as many as 50 to 100 meteors per hour, that means you're seeing of the order of one a second" - you don't need to be a physicist to work out that this statement does not add up. Having said that, it was an interesting listen and very informative
