Epic and sincere

This collection beautifully captures Burns’s poetry in all its splendor. The epic soundscapes are deliciously varied and were clearly chosen with real specificity to match each poem. The voice actors are excellent; authentic and sincere. I only knew a few poems before listening... now, I can’t wait to listen again.

Fresh and creative

To be honest, I am not generally an avid reader of Burns’ poetry, but this fresh approach to his work really brings it to life in a modern and accessible way. What I liked was the “ordinariness” of the voices: each poem feels like it is simply being spoken aloud by the person whose experience it is; there is a lovely authenticity. I also like the modern spin in places - such as poems left as voicemail - which makes you listen to the poems in a different way. All in all, a refreshing and creative approach to Burns!
