Publisher Description
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Straight Outta Crawley, written and read by Romesh Ranganathan.
At the age of 9, Romesh Ranganathan delivered his first ever stand-up set at a Pontin's Holiday Camp talent competition, smashing the only other competitor, a young girl playing the kazoo.
The gig went so well that Romesh retired his comic genius for twenty two years, hiding behind the guise of a maths teacher, before finally revealing himself again (no, not like that) at the tender age of 31. In 2010, Ranganathan staged his epic comeback gig to an almost silent room, and has since gone on to earn his place as the most in-demand overweight vegan Sri Lankan comedian in Britain.
Now, for the first time, he tells the full story of how he got here. From the delights of Sri Lankan hospitality to the race riots of Crawley and the horrors of vegan cheese, this is Ranganathan's hilarious autobiography.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Romesh Ranganathan’s deadpan humour has made him one of Britain’s favourite stand-ups. We loved listening to the audiobook version of his memoir, which he narrates himself with that inscrutable voice. Ranganathan’s warm storytelling style gives a real sense of the man behind the one-liners, giving us a glimpse into his experiences teaching maths in secondary schools, dealing with comedy fame, and navigating a farcical trip around Sri Lanka with his mum. If you’re listening on public transport, prepare to burst into spontaneous giggles at the acerbic re-telling of his career-starting Pontin’s performance. You may also get a lump in your throat when Ranganathan’s voice cracks while talking about his dad.

Yup he's a funny guy, and I have been listening to this whilst laying in bed, not saying Rom is a boring guy and his voice puts people to sleep, it's the the only time that I have time to myself...
Question to Romesh (if you are reading this) Are you still playing Fortnite ?
