Great Book, Great Narration

Couldn’t wait to start listening to this book, as soon as I finished the prequel ‘The Magicians Apprentice’ I started this one.

It’s a real bonus that these are all read by Richard Aspel, his characterisation means I can’t stop listening to the story.

It also goes almost without saying that Trudi Canavan is a true wizard when it comes to story telling

Shame about the narrator.

I love this but but why on earth did they use this narrator. His narration style is better suited to narration for a much younger audience. Painfully long pauses after every sentence make listening almost excruciating before long and this is before consideration of the lack of characterisation. He may also wish to consult with the writer on pronunciation of names etc.

Good story, terrible reading

The sorry is a great start to the new trilogy, however I'm very disappointed by Richard Aspel's narration and characterisation. He's nowhere near as good as previous narrators such as Samantha Bond.
