Florence Day is a ghost writer who writes romance novels for a best selling author. The trouble is she needs an extension and there have already been other previous ones
The biggest problem is she has not written one word. She is so cynical about love due her recent relationship imploding, she starts to think love is a myth therefore how can she write about it when she does not believes it exists.
When she goes to meet the new editor Benji Andor she is struck by how gorgeous he is and she even goes as far as the reintroducing herself to him twice lol
Not only is she a ghost writer she also sees ghosts. Her family runs a funeral home and due to a incident she left the town she grew up in under a cloud.
She even offers to write a different genre but the editor is not for turning. Shortly after this happens she the receives the sad news of her father’s death. So off she goes back to her hometown
When there is a unexpected knock at the door the last person she expects to see is Benji Andor. But he is a ghost. She soon hears that he was involved in an accident.
There ensues a whole host of things funny moments and tender moments as she forms a bond with Benji. But as she realises and knows she cannot have a relationship with a ghost, things start happening to his ghost, he makes a confession about the author she ghost writes for and that in itself brings another realisation for Florence.
Later on there is a twist that I guessed but it did not take away from my enjoyment
Brilliant as an audiobook!
This book is adorable! I listened to the audiobook for this one and loved it, and although I guessed the twist early on, this journey to the conclusion is well written and hooked me in! I loved Benji and Florence, and the narrator captured both personalities perfectly!
I will definitely look for more by this author!
