'What a book. Clever would be an understatement. And those last pages left me with chills. The concept had me intrigued and the execution had me captivated. I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!'

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Lisa Jewell’s 2017 thriller Then She Was Gone was startlingly addictive. The Family Upstairs strays further into the realms of psychological horror and sees Jewell masterfully ratchet up the tension from the first chapter. We meet our lead Libby on her 25th birthday as she inherits a large home in the heart of London’s well-heeled Chelsea. What should be a property happily-ever-after rapidly descends into a sinister tale of wealth-gone-bad, manipulation and abandonment. Told through three twisting narratives, we unravel the disturbing secrets that lead to the discovery of three bodies. Jewell’s complex storytelling glides from past to present so deftly that the anticipation becomes unbearable. Just what is this dream house hiding?
The family upstairs
Was slow to get into but that might have been because it was my first audiobook. Really enjoyed the story line. Would recommend!
Brilliant & different
Would highly recommend... completely addictive, imaginative story not following the usual boring predictable storylines. Loved the different readers with captivating voices. Not a bad word to say just sad it finished!
One big house, so many things going on. The story is told through the perspective of 3 characters and you don’t quite understand their connection until well into the book which keeps you guessing and wondering. A great read! Brilliant author with a great way of telling a tale
