Julian Treslove and Sam Finkler are old school friends. Despite a prickly relationship and very different lives, they've never quite lost touch with each other - or with their former teacher, Libor Sevick. Now all three are recently widowed, in their own way, and spend sweetly painful evenings together reminiscing. Until an unexpected violent attack brings everything they thought they knew into question.
The Finkler Question
Not an enjoyable read, I didn't find the characters interesting or likeable
The question is why did I buy it....
Only just made it past the excruciating first chapter. Painfully unfunny attempts at humour and an irritating narrative style that made me want to put down my ipod for a long long time...
Don't know how I got through to the end. None of the characters are remotely likeable - I didn't care what became of them or what they thought or said. Irritating narration - in short - don't bother.
