If, like us, you were a fan of Lucy Foley’s first whodunnit, The Hunting Party—a keep-you-guessing tale of murder at a New Year’s Eve party—you’re bound to love this. This time, it’s a glitzy wedding on a remote Irish island that provides the scene for an unexplained death. Foley uses multiple characters’ viewpoints to spin a clever mystery, which gets more and more intriguing as the drinks flow, secrets are spilled and the narrators become increasingly unreliable. In a story that examines entitlement and bullying, plenty of the twists arrive via short, sharp chapters—you’ll find yourself staying up all night to reach the end.

I liked this - an old school who dunnit with the equally unbelievable coincidence twist at the end. Fun, not too serious and a good book to read.
Stick With It
Having loved The Hunting Party by this author, I was looking forward to this. It’s written in very much the same style, with PoV chapters narrated by several key characters. Both the victim and perpetrator are not revealed until the end of the book which is a great hook - two lines of mystery to think about. I did find it quite slow to begin with and had quite a hard time liking or investing in any of the characters to begin with, but I am very glad that I stuck with it as the ending was great. Definitely worth a read although not quite as good as The Hunting Party.
A masterpiece of misandry
If you like the sound of book where every man is a disgusting misogynistic opportunist and every woman is a victim of the men in their lives; then boy have I got a book for you!
