Customer Reviews
Compelling.
I’m very well written, thought provoking and grabbing book. However, Fiona Shores delivery, whilst mostly good, it’s too, whispering to be heard properly in a car! Difficult to concentrate!
A Tad Disappointing
I’m not sure if it was the story - which seemed not a tight as usual? - or the narration. I think Fiona Shaw is a wonderful actress, but her whispering, breathy narration resulted in my attention drifting off. There is no light and dark, no shading in her tone to keep it all lively. Her accents really weren’t very good - I kept getting confused between Ibrahim and the Welsh guy as they both sounded the same!! Sorry Fiona, but your narration totally ruined listening to this book and I was so looking forward to it.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back Lesley. If Fiona narrates the next book I think I’ll forego buying the audio as I just can’t bear listening to the endless whispering. Totally ruined. Sorry Fiona.
Best one so far
I’ve enjoyed all of these books but I thought this one had a better all round set of characters. Possibly a bit simpler.
