Good story, good reading, one irritation

A very well-observed and cleverly crafted new Poirot. And Julian Rhind-Tutt does a typically good job of reading it, engagingly and with wit. *Except* for some reason, right the way through, he gets the pronunciation of a character’s name jarringly wrong. It’s a small thing but I can’t understand why an editor or producer wouldn’t correct it at the outset.

Boring and convoluted

Strays very far from Christie’s original characters and storytelling style. The protagonists lack the depth, warmth and wit created by Christie and the writing is devoid of the world-building of the original stories.
Characters are stereotypical and two dimensional and the crime’s backstory is convoluted and tedious.
I only finished listening because I paid for the download and found I had no interest in discovering the reason for the crime or the culprit. If you’re a fan of Christie’s Poirot, give this a miss.

Too long, tedious and convoluted

In the end couldn’t wait for it to end. Slow, drawn out, melodramatic nonsense. Way too long, convoluted, and annoyingly full of extraneous elements. Nothing like a Christie plot! The narrator is the only good element in the whole affair.
