The Beginning
So here is the first book in Harry Harrison's wonderful series, written in 1961.
Phil Gigante is narrating again, and does a first class job of conveying the book.
My only quibble is that this is half the length of The Stainless Steel Rat returns, but the same price.
I hope thought that Audible/Apple continue to release the rest of the saga, with Mr. Gigante at the helm.
Five Star Story but a Two Star Reading
I read the book years ago, and like all Harry Harrison's books it was a great read. I expected this would be a great reading of it, but it's simply too fast - was Phil Gigante in a rush to get home?
I have to listen at three quarters speed to enjoy it at all. But unfortunately three quarters is a little too slow so it IS a compromise.
At £10.95 for under five hours it's a dear book which needs re-recording.
