Best
I had been looking for a long time for an audio book like this. I found that I could not put it down. The narrator has a wonderful clear English accent that adds to the romance and the intrigue of the coming adventures of gay life both pre war and post war, also the relationships and mutual understanding of gay relationships between the working class and the higher class. It clearly demonstrates that being gay has no prejudices. All in all a wonderful audio book of gay fiction
Well spoken narrator adds to the story
Have read this book several times, but wanted to have it for long car journeys. The narrator is superb, and really brings the characters to life. His accent and he way he elucidates chimes effortlessly with Hollinghurst’s story as the last summer before it all changed for the gay community. Bravo!
