Publisher Description
An incredibly powerful and unsettling thriller, here is the audio edition of Michel Faber’s debut novel, read by Gerri Halligan.
Isserley spends most of her time driving. But why is she so interested in picking up hitchhikers? And why are they always male, well-built, and alone?
An utterly unpredictable and macabre mystery, Michel Faber's debut is an outstanding piece of fiction that will stay with you long after you have finished listening.
Customer Reviews
Scottish people don’t buy this
It’s cringe worthy that the narrator thought that was a acceptable Scottish accent. Story is good..massively let down by the accents.
Awkward accents.
Given the book is set in Scotland you'd think they'd pick a narrator who could do a Scottish accent. As it is, the Scottish dialogue sections are difficult to listen to given how woeful they are.
The story itself is fantastic but it's difficult to listen to the school play standard Scottish accents.
