Marnie is stuck.
Stuck working alone in her London flat, stuck battling the long afternoons and a life that increasingly feels like it’s passing her by.
Michael is coming undone.
Reeling from his wife’s departure, increasingly reclusive, taking himself on long, solitary walks across the moors and fells.
When a persistent mutual friend and some very English weather conspire to bring them together, Marnie and Michael suddenly find themselves alone on the most epic of walks and on the precipice of a new friendship.
But can it survive the journey?
A new love story by beloved bestseller David Nicholls, You Are Here is a novel of first encounters, second chances and finding the way home.

Behind appearances
This beautifully written book has the skill to portrait reflections and comments on ordinary events related to relationships somehow with profound insight. But what is apparent until the very end no matter what happens is that both the main characters have a personality sadness they cannot get rid of. In a way, it reminded me of the existentialists. It takes talent to make transpire feelings out of ordinary life events. And although books like this one make people think, they leave behind some sense of sadness which cannot be cured. A kind of surrender which shouldn’t be taken over hope.
Amazing
It was such a beautiful story, real pleasure to listen.
A nice listen
A very lovely listen, nice imagery and the character building is excellent. Hoped for slightly more from the ending but still a satisfying finish.
